After a busy day of running around Erie, Pennsylvania us Terror Daves had one more stop to make before settling in at the Tinseltown Movie Theater to catch a screening of Skull Island. Obviously we don’t need any warm-ups when it comes to seeing giant monsters but, thanks to one of Erie’s creative locals, that’s exactly what we got! Dick Schaefer managed to turn trash into treasure by converting old broken vehicles into giant bugs and there was no way Dave wasn’t going to figure out a way to add that to my already busy pre-birthday weekend itinerary.
Smack dab in the middle of Erie, Pennsylvania are 75 acres dedicated to its dead. The 167 year old cemetery is treasured by its community for its beautiful setting and historical markers while others whisper of its darker side. I, myself, knew nothing of it until that cold Saturday morning in early March when the other Terror Dave, Dave Fuentes, drove me through its gates. That in itself wasn’t unusual, we Daves enjoy visiting old graveyards, but there was something rather unique about this one. And so, within minutes of our arrival, we’d begin our search for the crypt of a vampire.
We are thrilled to announce that Midnight Syndicate Live! will be returning to Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends this fall! We’ve got a new show in a new theater that we can’t wait to share with you. Stay tuned for show updates, production photos, as well as a few more surprises we have in the works for you this year!
Terror Con made it to Rhode Island in February of 2017 and to be honest, I had no idea what to expect. I have been to many horror conventions before and it was certainly nice seeing one finally come to the Ocean State. Thankfully my nephew heard about it before I did and asked if I would bring him and since I like to encourage the interests of my nephews, especially if they mirror my own, I immediately said yes.
For the 8th year in a row, the Terror Daves have been nominated for a Rondo Award. This year you can find us on the ballot via #17 “Best Horror Blog or Website 2016.” It was such an honor to win in 2011 and a thrill to be nominated again! We are up against some great competition and hope our readers will support and vote for us! While you’re at it, show some support for Scary Monsters Magazine! Starting this summer the Daves will have a regular column in this phenomenal magazine entitled “The Terror Daves WEIRD USA!“
Entering is easy! Just go to the Rondo Award website HERE and cut and paste the ballot into an e-mail, fill out your pics and e-mail them to the address provided on the website. Make sure to include your name! We’re going to need all the help we can get as they combined the Best Blog and Best Website categories into one! It’s that simple and the Daves thank you!
…ASHLEY JOHNSON!!! The Daves would like to thank every one that entered our contest for the amazing book, “When Animals Attack: The 70 Best Horror Movies With Killer Animals!” Even if you were not our winner, we still cannot recommend this book enough and it is highly recommended by both Daves for your horror library!
The Daves would like to welcome fellow blogger AJ Dunbar from the bigfoot website BigfootBase.com! You can check out his site by going HERE!
“Enclosed please find some pictures I took. My husband thinks it is an orangutan. Is someone missing an orangutan?”
In December 2000, an anonymous letter and two photographs of a large ape-like creature arrived at the Sarasota County Sherriff’s office. In the letter, an elderly woman wrote of a persistent, late-night visitor who stole apples from her back porch. On the third night of visits in early October of that year, she collected her camera and approached the trespasser, snapping two infamous pictures in the world of cryptozoology.
