I hadn’t seen Horror Host, Svengoolie, descend upon Berwyn (a town he’s helped make famous) since he Grand Marshalled their “Houby Parade” last October (story HERE). I can’t recall the last time I’d seen him at their local treasure, “Horrorbles,” but I DO know that it was some time before I became a “Terror Dave.” It couldn’t happen too much for me, as the two seem made for each other. Not only because the Horror themed store is the official supplier of Sven’s rubber chickens but because they are both hallowed horror institutions of Chicagoland.

Terror from Beyond the Daves Rondo Arrives!
It was a grueling day at work, Thursday, with a day spent at a company meeting where the dreaded words, “We’re going to be doing some restructuring” came into play. While most of my co-workers went into a panic, I chose to remain calm and optimistic. This is a definite year for “change” so far as my life is concerned but, rather than look it as a challenge I am choosing to see these upheavals as opportunities to grow and reach new heights. Needless to say, I can’t describe how happy I was when I came home and saw a box had arrived with “Rondo Awards” listed in the return address.
Who, Me? Part 6: Double The Daves, Double The Fun!
By: Jamie Lee Cortese
During the course of my research, I stumbled (Cue Svengoolie sound effect: “Ow, ow, OW!”) across Terror From Beyond the Daves via Svengoolie’s blog. I was immediately struck (“OOOW!”) by how informative, varied, and, of course, just plain entertaining it was. I also enjoyed how it was written by two fans of horror and horror hosts. Before I knew it, I was reading it on a pretty regular basis. Then, I suddenly found myself digging around back into the blog’s archives to read the articles that I had missed, and to reread some that were particularly helpful or fun. It was through Terror From Beyond the Daves that I not only discovered more horror hosts (like Wolfman Mac), but also expanded upon my knowledge of the ones I already knew about. I pondered for months about whether or not I should send out an e-mail to one or both of The Daves. As it turns out, I wouldn’t have to.
