Horrorhound’s “Fact or Fiction-Fest” Celebrating UFO’s and Cryptids!

As soon as I saw that framed poster of The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972) standing at the entrance of Horrorhound Weekend‘s Fact or Fiction-Fest, I knew I was going to love it. That familiar image of a hairy monster gliding through the water drew the cryptozoology fan in me like a moth to a flame. Or in this instance, a Mothman to a flame. I was very excited when Horrorhound announced the addition of this show; an entire room dedicated to UFO’s, Bigfoot, and even ghosts. It even featured notable guests such as Giorgio A. Tsoukalos a.k.a. the wild-haired personality from the Ancient Aliens series who’s since gone on to become a meme. Continue reading

The MASK-FEST Manifesto

Although I’ve attended every Horrorhound/MASK-FEST for the last eight years, this one had me nervous. Having outgrown their old Marriott hotel guests were treated to a significantly larger (and pricier) one last year that didn’t seem to make a lot of folks happy. This year they finally graduated to the Indianapolis Convention Center – a venue I’d last visited back in 2005 for STAR WARS CELEBRATION III. I had no doubt it was large enough but was primarily concerned with the logistics and parking situation. Thankfully, it couldn’t have gone better. The 2019 Horrorhound Weekend would prove itself not only a winner in terms of organization but a true fan-pleaser by offering THREE events for the price of one. In addition to Horrorhound Weekend and MASK-FEST, there’d be a third show called Fact or Fiction featuring notable personalities from the world of the unknown. So if you’re a horror fan who’s also into UFO’s AND Cryptozoology like I am, this was the event you’ve been waiting for!

3 Very Fishy Bigfoot Videos You Should Know About

The Daves would like to welcome fellow blogger AJ Dunbar from the bigfoot website BigfootBase.com! You can check out his site by going HERE!

I am fascinated by the mind of a Bigfoot hoaxer. I think I’m even a believer in nationwide, Bigfoot hoaxing secret societies (maybe this unfortunate Ghillie-suit hoaxer was in one). But why do they do it? Does hoaxing a Bigfoot video provide a natural thrill of being a ‘troll?’ Or are there financial motives that are this worthwhile?

Even if never definitively proven fake, there’s just so many dirty clods of ‘video evidence’ out there. Good videos of Sasquatch are extremely rare, so let’s try to cut a little bit of the fat with this list of three questionable clips.

Cryptozoology & the Possibility of Real-life Monsters!

bigfoot

If you’ve read any of our previous posts regarding visits to The International Museum of Cryptozoology (most recently David Albaugh’s story on The Minnesota Ice Man seen HERE), then you know that we Terror Daves are fans of this pseudoscience. That’s not to say we believe it all, of course, just that we’re intrigued at the possibility of strange and unusual animals still yet to be discovered. We like to keep an open mind while reminding ourselves that, though many researchers avoid the topic entirely, there are just as many credible and educated believers willing to risk their reputations by supporting it as well. And let’s be honest, who here wouldn’t love to find out that some monsters are real?

On The Trail Of The Minnesota Iceman!

cabinet-main

If you are a regular follower of the Daves then you know that we have a variety of interests with one thing in common, they borderline on the weird. Some of the things that make us happy in life are horror and science fiction movies, horror hosts, UFO’s, keeping tarantulas as pets and cryptozoology.

Cryptozoology is the study of hidden animals. These are either animals that were thought to have gone extinct in the past and yet are still being seen today or they are animals that no one has ever caught or officially recorded. Most accounts are based on eyewitness testimony or out of focus photos and though many reports seem bizarre or too good to be true, once in a while a new (or old) animal is discovered (or rediscovered) proving the eyewitnesses correct.

Face to Face with Bigfoot at the International Cryptozoology Museum!

IMG_3686 (571x800)

(Continued from Sunday 9-21-14) We no sooner entered The International Cryptozoology Museum when David started photographing every inch of it. Thank the Universe for digital cameras because there was so much to see that it soon became obvious this was one attraction warranting multiple visits. What amazed me was how  they were able to display so many interesting objects of varying shapes and sizes while still managing to have it all relatively organized. I didn’t see the need for us both taking a million pictures so I decided to leave that endeavor to him while I chatted with Sarah and made my way around the building.
