Music to Die For: “The Halloween Album” by The Goldstars!

Just in time for Halloween, The Goldstars are releasing their first new full-length album in 20 years! It’s not a bird, it’s not a plane…it’s The Halloween Album!

Throughout the early 2000s, Chicago’s garage punk (pop?) servicemen, The Goldstars, bashed out primitive, sharply hooked albums: Gotta Get Out, Purple Girlfriend, and The Race EP. These quickly caught the attention of buccaneer tastemaker Little Steven and his SiriusXM Underground Garage, and the band’s ship was humbly christened to set sail! (All aboard!) During this three-decade tour, The Goldstars brought on a new ship’s captain: the baddest mamba jamba that ever was, Andre “Mr. Rhythm” Williams, who bestowed them backing band duties for 10 years, together releasing Nightclub EP, live album, and various scratchy 45s.

After the passing of their legendary Captain ‘Dre on St. Patrick’s Day 2018, The Goldstars’ lead singer, Matt ‘Sal’ Favazza was inspired to continue the voyage and delivered their first new recordings in over 10 years. After nine(!) successful stand-alone singles caught hold on SiriusXM Faction Punk, Little Steven’s Underground Garage, Sound Opinions, and Dr. Demento among others, this mighty ship took a spooky turn?!?! What’s next for these pesky rawk raiders? Pirates’ booty? Something more haunting… a 13-song juggernaut of ‘eerieeeee’ tales called, The Halloween Album.

Worldwide streaming/digital release date: 10/2/26 out on Mordorlorff Music.

Thank you for listening and any Terror From Beyond The Dave consideration! Available for interviews.

*This album has been made possible by an Individual Artists Program (IAP) grant from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE).

PS: Here’s a little bit about each spooky track:

1.     Let Your Freak Flag Fly (It’s Halloween Night): Picking out your Halloween costume can be surprisingly stressful, but here’s a ghoul-ture step-by-step guide.

2.     Stroll In Hell: What happens when you land in hell only to watch monsters do a 50s dance? Weird huh?

3.     Cats, Rats or Wind (Feat. Gabrielle Sutton): Can everything you’re scared of be explained by cats, rats or wind??

4.     It’s Scary: Ghosts, graveyards, and goblins can be scary, but what about everyday life? ABSOLUTLEY TERRIFYING!

5.     I Frankensteined U: In this re-imagined classic tale, we learn that Dr. Frankenstein is in-fact a seamstress with a fascination with old Hollywood. Can’t make this stuff up…

6.     The Introduction: We’re going to let Sir Ken Mottet do all the talking here.

7.     No Halloween (Feat. Ken Mottet): What if Halloween was eliminated from planet earth? Gulp!?!?

8.     Monsters Go Away: The story takes place the day after the most infamous monster party of all time, “The Monster Mash”. What happens when the monsters just won’t leave? Film @ 11…

9.     Cabin Rd.: Go ahead, take Cabin Rd (not on Google Maps) …I DAAAAAARE YA!

10.  Leave Me Alone (A Halloween Song): What if you woke up one morning having no memory of what Halloween is and at the same time a bunch of kids dressed in strange outfits stormed your porch? Yeah, I might be scared too!

11.  New Orleans Ghost Tour Night: Don’t believe in ghosts? Um, you will now!

12.  Hallowteen: Boy, an awkward age already and then you have to deal with ‘trick or treat rejection’? I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy…

13.  Want My Damn Candy: See above, but this time: Teens 1 / Adults 0.This album is dedicated to Count Scary.

Worldwide streaming/digital release date: 10/2/26 out on Mordorlorff Music.
