2012 Miss Zombie and Svengoolie’s New Coffin: “Nightmare on Chicago Street” Finale!

Alex and I quickly navigated through crowds of monsters and maniacs as we made our way from Svengoolie’s signing to the The Nightmare on Chicago Street’s main stage. I’d forgotten my map but one needed only a pair of working ears to determine which way to go. Echoing throughout the event was the featured band, “Hairbanger’s Ball” performing 1980’s rock hits. It wasn’t long until I was reunited with my friends amid a cover of Warrant’s “Cherry Pie.”

ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER: Movie vs the Book!

Not long ago, I reviewed the book ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER (you can scroll down or click HERE). This coincided with the release of the new film which, despite a hectic weekend, I was able to see via a Sunday matinee. So the big questions are, how does the movie stack up and how does it compare with the book version? I was surprised to discover that the movie and the book could NOT have been more different! “Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter”…The Book!

In anticipation of the upcoming film, I just finished reading “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” written by Seth Grahame-Smith and published 2010. There are countless books written about our famed 16th President, and that’s not too shocking since most historians will quickly site him as our #1 greatest leader. I do enjoy historical/political biographies, particularly those that deal with American Presidents. I’ve read several on Lincoln, though nowhere near the 16,000 that are said to exist on him. Regardless, I believe it is safe to assume that NONE of them are like this one!
