2013 marked G-FEST (Godzilla Festival’s) 20th gathering and I’d attended faithfully the last ten. Of all the conventions I’ve gone to, this one always has a special place in my heart because it gave me so many happy memories with my kids (as I tearfully explained once HERE). Not to mention, Godzilla fans are really more like family than just fellow enthusiasts which makes it more like an annual reunion as opposed to Expo. Unfortunately, the July weekend it took place this year couldn’t have presented more of a challenge for me as my Friday & Saturday was booked solid with events I was locked into attending.
2013 MASK-FEST: Hideous Undead Edition!
From skeletons to zombies, if there’s one thing we can take away from a visit to MASK-FEST it’s that death is anything but the end!
2013 MASK-FEST: Sharp Toothed Terrors!

Illinois Historic Auto Museum features past Horror from both Film and History!
When I took a detour past Rockford, IL, little did I know that I’d find a hidden treasure! Located in Roscoe, IL is the Historic Auto Attractions. Here you have Presidents mingling with wild animals, movie memorabilia, and so much more!
Krystle Conquers Kenosha!
It was the day after I’d attended Flashback Weekend and I returned to pick up Brian Maze having just checked out of his hotel. Prior to flying in from his native Virginia, Brian had arranged to do a photo shoot with Krystle Street. She’d caught his eye back when she was performing on Dr. Destruction’s Crimson Theatre and Brian was determined to get her as his newest model for Maze Studios (please take the time to “Like” his Facebook page by clicking HERE). Brian had already made a name for himself as an artist (he’s responsible for the Terror Dave faces on our logo as well as having done pogs for our Horror Host Report) but lately has been focusing on his photography.
