Thanks for stopping by “Terror from Beyond the Dave!” I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and, being a ’70s kid, was a big fan of the horror host, “Son of Svengoolie” – now simply Svengoolie. I couldn’t get enough of his mad-capped parodies and schtick along with the monster movies he faithfully doled out on Saturday nights. I’ve never outgrown Godzilla, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and all those wonderful 50’s sci-fi films but also enjoy horror in all its forms – be it slasher, supernatural, or even some ‘found footage.’ I’m a regular at midwest conventions and horror-themed events and love sharing those experiences with readers. This site began in 2010 and won the Rondo Award for “Best Blog” 2011. During that time I’ve also written articles for Horrorhound, G-FAN, and Scary Monsters Magazine. I wrote an essay on Dark Night of the Scarecrow in the wonderful book Hidden Horror: A Celebration of 101 Underrated and Overlooked Fright Flicks and co-wrote the Introduction for the 2nd Printing of Creatures of the Night We Loved So Well: TV Horror Hosts of Southern California.
