TALES FROM HORRORHOUND WEEKEND: The Late Dr. Lady!

My friend (and later co-blogger), David Albaugh, and I were anxious for me to attend the 2010 Indianapolis Horrorhound Weekend. We’d both grown up with a love for Svengoolie and had decided just a couple months prior to this event that we’d like to see what other hosts were operating around the country. I was already slated to attend this convention along with my friend, Jason Lucas, due to our mutual love of zombies and the appearance of their god-father, George Romero.

Learning that this event would also feature a Vampira Tribute, along with the largest gathering of horror hosts, was the proverbial “icing on the cake.” Jason was no fan of horror hosts but was willing to go along with my expedition of meeting them as well as helping me try and obtain as many copies of their different shows to share with David. Throughout the weekend we’d meet many but, David Lady, host of The Late Dr. Lady Show was a tough one to track!

This was not surprising as he is not only a horror host ( as well as Mayor of his Chatfield, Ohio) but also a skilled props and mask maker! He busily worked both Horrorhound and Mask-Fest and it wasn’t until Sunday we’d find him in the latter. David Albaugh had already known David Lady for years and the two were friends. It was his relationship with him that would work as a sedge-way to my getting to know him as well. And here is how it went…

Tune in next week for another “Tale from Horrorhound Weekend!”

I am such a fan of both David Lady and his wife Laura that I suggested on Facebook, that they should have a reality show of their own. But, the more I learn of them, I don’t think they would have the time! LOL I love your work Dr. and Mrs.Lady
